Factory Five Five Director
Autumn Tomlinson is the Director of Factory Five Five, an emerging theatrical venue and cooperative art space in Aurora, Colorado. Autumn comes to Factory Five Five with a diverse skill set having worked for organizations around the globe. Autumn received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Oregon in 2007.
Following her passion for the arts, she began teaching printmaking at the Material Exchange Center for Community Arts and worked at the John G Shedd Institute for the Performing Arts in Eugene, Oregon. 2011 marked Autumn’s first year of working abroad, where she was contracted through the Department of Defense at an Armed Forces Recreation Center in the Bavarian Alps. This experience sparked a love and passion for travel, and contract work, that took her to Australia, New Zealand and finally Antarctica with the National Science Foundation. Over the course of four years Autumn worked at McMurdo Station, and the Amundsen/Scott South Pole Station, completing contracts for Gana-A-Yoo and Pacific Architects and Engineers. Here, she honed her skills in supply and logistics as well as project management. Autumn’s artistic inspirations have been fuelled by her travels and work experiences. In 2017 she completed an Artist Residency at Dragon Dance Theater in Trois-Rivières, Canada and in 2019 she was awarded an 11 month Artist Residency at Studio Place Arts in Barre, Vermont. While living in Vermont, Autumn worked for the Vermont College of Fine Art as an Administrative Support Specialist as well as the Culinary and Event Operations Coordinator.
In 2020 Autumn became a member and co-owner of The Front Gallery, an artist-run cooperative gallery space in Montpelier, Vermont. Through exhibitions, events, and activities, she aimed to provoke curiosity and community engagement with the visual art. After moving to Denver in June 2021, this aim is still resonating in her. Autumn is excited to call Factory Five Five her new home!
