Winter Tales

An interactive theatre experience for children, we are excited to bring classic holiday books to life. Participants will enjoy an activity followed by four short plays (total show time: 1 hour, 15 minutes). Each book will be available for purchase to bring the excitement of the season home.

In a story of tradition and kindness, Old Bubba Brayna excitedly prepares her famous latkes for the rabbi. The smell attracts a nearby bear instead, but nearly blind and deaf she doesn’t realize the difference!

With a little help from friends and family, Li’l Rabbit finally finds a way to brighten his sick Granna Rabbit’s Kwanzaa. Enjoy his journey as the true meaning of the holiday comes to life.

Lucida’s mother becomes sick and cannot finish a blanket for baby Jesus. Overcoming fear and setbacks, this Mexican legend tells how Lucida’s giving heart creates the poinsettia, a symbol of Christmas. 

Newberry Medalist, Susan Cooper, weaves a beautiful tale of light in the darkness and hope. Preparing for the longest night of the year, people come together building fires and making music as they look ahead to the future.
